Oy Erco-Mek Ab is a Finnish company with roots in Ostrobothnia and a strong heritage in industrial manufacturing. Our journey began in the 1980s, when we established ourselves as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of specialized fur processing machines—a sector that at the time was of great importance both to the region and to the export market.
For several decades, we developed and manufactured advanced machines that were delivered to customers around the world. That period laid the foundation for our technical expertise, meticulous craftsmanship, and our ability to create durable, customized solutions.
As the fur industry gradually lost its central role, both in Finland and globally, we restructured our business. Over the past ten years, our main focus has been on subcontracting work—collaborating with companies in various industries to manufacture their products according to high standards of quality, precision, and delivery reliability.
We specialize in metalworking, welding, assembly, and mechanical constructions. In addition to metalwork, we have expanded our expertise to include HDPE (high-density polyethylene) extrusion welding, opening new possibilities for lightweight constructions and maintenance-free solutions.
Over the past year, we have also focused deliberately on developing our own products. Several new ideas and solutions have been developed, focusing on robust design, practical functionality, and durability. Our largest investment to date is our self-developed HDPE boat—a modern, durable, and maintenance-free option, developed with support from the European Union. Read more about our HDPE-boat.
