VARCO P670

Please note that the Varco P670 is a prototype. It is our first HDPE boat model and the first full-scale boat we have developed and manufactured. The boat was built as a test and development model to evaluate the construction, handling characteristics, stability and practical solutions for our future Varco models.

The boat is approximately 6.7 metres long and 2.25 metres wide and is made of HDPE plastic. The material is very well suited for workboats due to its high impact resistance, long service life and low maintenance requirements.

The design has been developed for practical use and conditions where a durable, low-maintenance and robust boat is essential. The HDPE material withstands heavy use and marine environments without issues related to rust or conventional corrosion.

The boat is CE marked in Category D and approved for 4 persons, with a maximum total load of 900 kg. The maximum permitted engine power is 75 kW, equivalent to approximately 102 hp, and the maximum engine weight is 170 kg.

As our first prototype, the P670 has been used for testing and evaluating areas such as hull design, stability, handling characteristics, layout and ease of use. The experience gained from this boat has provided us with valuable knowledge and forms the basis for the development of our upcoming Varco models.

Developed as part of an EU co-funded project.

The development of the Varco P670 has been carried out as part of the “Manufacturing boats from reusable materials” project, co-funded by the European Union.

The aim of the project has been to develop a robust workboat in the 6–8 metre size range, manufactured from welded polyethylene profiles. The focus has been on durability, impact resistance, low maintenance requirements and the use of recyclable materials in the boat’s construction.

The project has also served as an important foundation for our continued development of HDPE boats for demanding professional applications.
